ESKA Competition – 20th October 2018

Calling all Karate-ka

With the autumn grading over, its time to focus on the 2018 competition that’s open to absolutely EVERYONE within ESKA. This year the competition is on a Saturday and all contestants will receive a participation medal and certificate with trophies being awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. Check out the event page.

Categories Include

  • Kihon (basic): 5 kicks forward followed by 5 punches backward
  • Kata (forms): Choose any Shotokan kata
  • Team Kata: Teams of two can choose any Shotokan kata
  • Kumite (freestyle fighting): Head-guards provided to juniors but all contestants must provide their own gum shield

Each category costs just £4 (£6 for kata teams) but if you would like to take part several categories you won’t pay more than £10

The competition will be held on the 20th October at the Stevenage Hombu (Stevenage Leisure Centre). All entrants will receive a medal just for taking part. The cost is £4 per event entered. (You are able to enter more than one event.)

What’s up for Grabs?

Entry

If a student wishes to take part in the freestyle event then they must have their own gum shield. All other equipment can be provided on the day.

Entrance forms are available through your club instructors or downloaded using the links below. Please contact your instructors should you have any questions, contact them via your club page. Deadline for entries is Monday 15th October 2018.
