With May’s Dan Grading fast approaching, its time to share details of the Pre Dan Grading Course.
Everyone who intends on grading in May MUST attend this course to be eligible to grade.
I’m sure most of you are already well aware, that the grading is this Sunday.
Whilst you are busy with your last minute preparations and practice we wanted to remind you of a few things…
We have just been made aware that the AMA Championships 2018 have been cancelled by the event organisers.
This is due to the adverse weather conditions currently being experienced and with more severe weather planned to be on the way, this was deemed the best course of action for the organisers.
We will keep you updated if the competition is to be rearranged for another date. Please watch this space.
Every year the AMA (Amature Martial Association) hold their International Competition and invite amature Martial Artists to compete in Kumite or Kata categories.
This years competition will be held at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre in Sheffield. It runs across the weekend of 3rd & 4th March 2018.
As you may know, history is a very important part of Karate-do and its important we don’t forget where it all started. With Karate being showcased at the 2020 Olympics it is important that we don’t forget our roots and the teachings of old Karate masters.
To that end I have over the last few weeks/months put together what I believe to be an accurate account of our Karate heritage in the form of a timeline.
With yesterday being Shrove Tuesday or more widely known as “Pancake Day”, it means today is Ash Wednesday the beginning of Lent. But for Neil Fisher from the St. Albans club, he has decided upon a different approach.
On Sunday 10th December we held our last KYU grading of 2017 and boy was it one to remember (or rather forget?!).
With the heavy snowfall on the Saturday night through to Sunday morning, it presented us with a challenge we have never had to deal with before.
Our annual ESKA Dinner & Dance was held on 18th November 2017 at the Needham House Hotel in Little Wymondley.
It was great to be back at this venue (Previously called the Blakemore) after many years at the Old Palace Lodge hotel in Dunstable.
The evening was full of drinks, awards, food, dancing and most importantly fun!
On Saturday 11th November we held our Winter Dan grading at Little Staughton Village Hall.
It gives me great pleasure to be able to share the results below.
