With yesterday being Shrove Tuesday or more widely known as “Pancake Day”, it means today is Ash Wednesday the beginning of Lent. Around the world Christian’s observe the days leading up to Easter Sunday by not giving into temptations (mainly giving up chocolate and other sugary treats). But for Neil Fisher from the St. Albans club, he has decided upon a different approach.
On Sunday 10th December we held our last KYU grading of 2017 and boy was it one to remember (or rather forget?!).
With the heavy snowfall on the Saturday night through to Sunday morning, it presented us with a challenge we have never had to deal with before.
Our annual ESKA Dinner & Dance was held on 18th November 2017 at the Needham House Hotel in Little Wymondley.
It was great to be back at this venue (Previously called the Blakemore) after many years at the Old Palace Lodge hotel in Dunstable.
The evening was full of drinks, awards, food, dancing and most importantly fun!
On Saturday 11th November we held our Winter Dan grading at Little Staughton Village Hall.
It gives me great pleasure to be able to share the results below.
Now its time for the videos…

Thanks must go to Luke Santilli from Luke Santilli Photography who just so happens to be one of our many black belts.
Sunday 29th October saw ESKA hold its annual championships at the Stevenage Hombu. As always, the event was a great success and all that attended enjoyed the high quality of karate on show. From the youngest junior to the oldest adult; everyone showed a high level of commitment and spirit. Judges were particularly impressed with the etiquette of the students participating.
Yesterday (29th October) we held our annual ESKA Competition at the ESKA Honbu (Stevenage Leisure Centre).
It was a fantastic, albeit long day, with some great competitors.
With only a few days to go, are you getting excited? I know myself and the other instructors are!
I thought I would share a few reminders and further details about the day, just to help alleviate some of those pre-competition nerves.
The annual ESKA First Aid Course for Instructors was again held at the ESKA Hombu in Stevenage.
