Sunday 10th November saw ESKA hold its annual championships at the Stevenage Hombu. This year was a special year, as ESKA celebrated its 40th anniversary, so the competition was bigger and better than ever before. As always, the event was a great success and all that attended enjoyed the high quality of karate on show. From the youngest junior to the oldest adult; everyone showed a high level of commitment and spirit. Judges were particularly impressed with the etiquette of the students participating.

So, here is the ESKA 2018 “Deep South Real Ale Tour” synopsis with the usual anecdotal stories…. Sensei Gavin having yet another food issue, Sensei Tony still unable to drink a full pint of Ale, the welcome introduction of 2 new “Real Alers” and of course another excellent final meal to finish the night off.

We have just been made aware that the AMA Championships 2018 have been cancelled by the event organisers.
This is due to the adverse weather conditions currently being experienced and with more severe weather planned to be on the way, this was deemed the best course of action for the organisers.
We will keep you updated if the competition is to be rearranged for another date. Please watch this space.
Every year the AMA (Amature Martial Association) hold their International Competition and invite amature Martial Artists to compete in Kumite or Kata categories.
